TYRONE CARTER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 16, 2023 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Regulatory Reform was called to order by Chair Tyrone Carter. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Tyrone Carter, Liberati, Neeley, Scott, Young, Grant, McFall, Snyder, Wilson, Mueller, Filler, Wendzel, Aragona, Bierlein, Neyer. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Scott moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 9, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4322 before the committee: HB 4322 (Rep. Coleman) A bill to amend 2018 IL 1, entitled "Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act," by amending the title and sections 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 11 (MCL 333.27953, 333.27954, 333.27955, 333.27958, 333.27960, and 333.27961), sections 3 and 8 as amended by 2021 PA 56. Representative Mueller moved to report out HB 4322 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 15-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Tyrone Carter, Liberati, Neeley, Scott, Young, Grant, McFall, Snyder, Wilson, Mueller, Filler, Wendzel, Aragona, Bierlein, Neyer. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4273, but did not wish to speak: Leah Robinson, representing the Michigan Chamber. Manny Lentine, representing the Common Citizen. The Chair laid HB 4273 before the committee: HB 4273 (Rep. O'Neal) A bill to amend 1917 PA 167, entitled "Housing law of Michigan," by amending section 132 (MCL 125.532), as amended by 2000 PA 479. Representative O'Neal testified in support of HB 4273. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 4273, but did not wish to speak: Mark Garcia, representing the Michigan State Housing Development Authority.
