- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. TULLIO LIBERATI CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, May 24, 2023 12:00 PM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chair Liberati. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall, Posthumus, Greene. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative McFall moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 17, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4519 before the committee: HB 4519 (Rep. Scott) A bill to designate May 2 of each year as Negro Leagues Day. Representative Scott and Lydia Teasley, representing the Negro Leagues Family Alliance, testified in support of HB 4519. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 4388 before the committee: HB 4388 (Rep. Roth) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 21105 (MCL 324.21105). Representative Roth and Casey Smith testified in support of HB 4388. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 4388, but did not wish to speak: Neil DeSouza, representing the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The following person submitted a card in opposition to HB 4388, but did not wish to speak: Pete Langley, representing Mark Griffin the President of the Michigan Petroleum Association.
