- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. TULLIO LIBERATI CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, June 7, 2023 12:00 PM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chair Liberati. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall, Posthumus, Greene. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Pohutsky moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 24, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4221 before the committee: HB 4221 (Rep. St. Germaine) A bill to designate Harrison Township as "Boat Town USA". Representative St. Germaine testified in support of HB 4221. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4221, but did not wish to speak: Kelley Black Lovati, representing the Macomb County Chambers CEO. Ken Verkest, representing the Supervisor of Harrison Township. Gerry Knotts, representing the South River Marine. Tony Forlini, representing the Macomb County. Pete Lucido, representing the Macomb County Prosecutor. Candice Miller, representing the Macomb County Public Works Commissioner. Mark Hackel, representing the Macomb County Executive. The Chair laid HB 4457 before the committee: HB 4457 (Rep. Scott) A bill to designate June 19 of each year as Juneteenth. Representative Scott testified in support of HB 4457. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4457, but did not wish to speak: John Fournier, representing the City of Ann Arbor. Gabe Basso, representing the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Michigan Credit Union League. Brian Schoaf, representing the Detroit Regional Chamber.
