LAURIE POHUTSKY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, June 8, 2023 10:30 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Committee on Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation was called to order by Chair Pohutsky. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Pohutsky, Hill, Arbit, McFall, Paiz, Martin, Prestin, Schriver. Absent: Rep. Shannon. Excused: Rep. Shannon. Representative McFall moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 25, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 14 before the committee: SB 14 (Sen. McCann) A bill to amend 1969 PA 306, entitled "Administrative procedures act of 1969," by amending sections 32 and 45 (MCL 24.232 and 24.245), as amended by 2018 PA 602. Senator McCann testified in support of SB 14. Questions and discussion followed. Ethan Petzold and Logan Vorce, from the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, testified in support of SB 14. Questions and discussion followed. Sean McBreaty, from Clean Water Action, testified in support of SB 14. Mentzer) A bill to prohibit the sale, offering for sale, and distribution for sale of certain disposable wipes without meeting certain label requirements; and to prohibit certain acts and provide civil sanctions. Representative Mentzer testified in support of HB 4596. Questions and discussion followed. Wes Fisher, from INDA Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, testified in support of HB 4596.
