- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE REP. JERRY NEYER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Agriculture was called to order by Chair Neyer. The Clerk read a letter dated January 30th, 2025, from House Speaker Matt Hall which appointed members of the Committee on Agriculture. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Neyer, Wortz, Lightner, Alexander, Fox, Kunse, Pavlov, Paiz, Dievendorf, Rheingans and Skaggs. Absent: None. Excused: None. Chair Neyer stated that the House Agriculture Committee will follow the Uniform Committee Rules, stated in the House Standing Rules, that were adopted on the House Floor. Chair Neyer offered the following proposed committee rule: At the discretion of the committee chair, a member of the public may address the committee regarding business before the committee. The committee may accept written testimony in lieu of oral testimony. Representative Kunse moved to adopt the proposed committee rule. The motion prevailed 11-0- 0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Neyer, Wortz, Lightner, Alexander, Fox, Kunse, Pavlov, Paiz, Dievendorf, Rheingans and Skaggs. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Alexander moved to adopt Thursday at 10:30am in room 308 of the House Office Building as the normal day, time, and location for meetings of the House Agriculture Committee. The motion prevailed 11-0-0: Thursday, February 20, 2025 10:30 AM Room 308, House Office Building FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Neyer, Wortz, Lightner, Alexander, Fox, Kunse, Pavlov, Paiz, Dievendorf, Rheingans and Skaggs. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid a presentation from Michigan Farm Bureau before the committee. Rebecca Park, Legislative Council for the Michigan Farm Bureau, gave presentation. Questions and discussion followed.
