HELENA SCOTT CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, June 14, 2023 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Energy, Communications, and Technology was called to order by Chair Scott. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Scott, Andrews, Coleman, Whitsett, Neeley, Byrnes, Churches, Hill, MacDonell, McFall, Wendzel, Outman, Aragona, BeGole, Greene, Prestin, Schmaltz. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Hill moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 7, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 302 and SB 303 before the committee: SB 302 (Sen. Camilleri) A bill to amend 2010 PA 270, entitled "Property assessed clean energy act," by amending section 9 (MCL 460.939), as amended by 2017 PA 242. SB 303 (Sen. McDonald Rivet) A bill to amend 2010 PA 270, entitled "Property assessed clean energy act," by amending the title and sections 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 15, and 17 (MCL 460.933, 460.935, 460.937, 460.941, 460.943, 460.945, and 460.947), section 3 as amended by 2017 PA 242. Senator McDonald Rivet testified in support of SB 302 and SB 303. Questions and discussion followed. Justin Carpenter and Laura Sherman, representing the Michigan Energy Innovation Business Council, testified in support of SB 302 and SB 303. Todd Williams, representing Lean and Green Michigan, testified in support of SB 302 and SB 303. Questions and discussion followed. Nicholas Zuba, representing C-PACE Alliance, testified in support of SB 302 and SB 303. Questions and discussion followed. Singh) A bill to amend 2012 PA 615, entitled "Michigan energy assistance act," by repealing section 6 (MCL 400.1236), as amended by 2019 PA 87. Senator Singh testified in support of SB 288.
