- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. TULLIO LIBERATI CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, September 27, 2023 12:00 PM Room 307, House Office Building The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chair Liberati. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall, Posthumus, Greene. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative McFall moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 14, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4825 before the committee: HB 4825 (Rep. Hill) A bill to amend 1986 PA 182, entitled "State police retirement act of 1986," by amending section 66 (MCL 38.1666), as added by 2018 PA 674. Representative Pohutsky moved to refer HB 4825 to the Committee on Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation. The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall, Posthumus, Greene. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HB 4722 before the committee: HB 4722 (Rep. Scott) A bill to amend 2005 PA 48, entitled "An act to designate the third Saturday in June as Juneteenth National Freedom Day; and to designate November 26 of each year as Sojourner Truth Day in the state of Michigan," by amending the title and section 1 (MCL 435.361). Representative Scott testified in support of HB 4722. Representative Pohutsky moved to report out HB 4722 with recommendation. The motion prevailed 3-0-2: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Liberati, Pohutsky, McFall. Nays: None. Pass: Reps. Posthumus, Greene. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Liberati adjourned the meeting at 12:07 PM.
