The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Hope, Andrews, Tyrone Carter, Breen, Young, Arbit, Dievendorf, Tsernoglou, Filler, Mueller, Bezotte, Harris, BeGole. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Young moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 3, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4917 and HB 4918 before the committee: HB 4917 (Rep. Steckloff) A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled "The code of criminal procedure," by amending section 16d of chapter XVII (MCL 777.16d), as amended by 2016 PA 88. HB 4918 (Rep. Steckloff) A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled "The Michigan penal code," (MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 81g. Representative Steckloff testified in support of HB 4917 and HB 4918.
