HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON HEALTH POLICY REP. CURTIS VANDERWALL CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair VanderWall. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. VanderWall, Thompson, Meerman, Tisdel, Bierlein, DeBoer, Prestin, Schmaltz, St. Germaine, Bohnak, Frisbie, Brenda Carter, Witwer, Hoskins and Foreman. Absent: Reps. Whitsett and Neeley. Excused: Reps. Whitsett and Neeley. Representative Bierlein moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 19, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4309 before the committee: Representative Prestin testified in support of HB 4309. Questions and discussions followed. Thadd Gormas and Jodi McCollum, representing the Michigan Academy of Physician Associates, joined by Mike White, representing the Michigan Association of Physician Associates, testified in support of HB 4309. Rogers) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 16188. HB 4104 (Rep. Wozniak) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending sections 16345, 18301, and 18305 (MCL 333.16345, 333.18301, and 333.18305), as amended by 2008 PA 523, and by adding sections 18303a and 18303b. Laura Cohen, representing Eli Lilly, joined by Dr. Cara Leahy, representing Memorial Healthcare Institution for Neuroscience, gave a presentation on Alzheimer’s Disease. Questions and discussion followed. Representative St. Germaine moved to excuse Representatives Whitsett and Neeley from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair VanderWall adjourned the meeting at 10:22 AM.
