LAURIE POHUTSKY CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, January 18, 2024 10:30 AM Room 327, House Office Building The House Committee on Natural Resources, Environment, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation was called to order by Chair Pohutsky. The Clerk read a letter from Speaker Tate removing Representative Shannon from the committee. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Pohutsky, Hill, McFall, Paiz, Martin, Prestin, Schriver. Absent: Rep. Arbit. Excused: None. Representative Paiz moved to adopt the meeting minutes from November 9, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5205 before the committee: HB 5205 (Rep. Dievendorf) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending section 3103 (MCL 324.3103), as amended by 2005 PA 33. Representative Dievendorf testified in support of HB 5205. Questions and discussion followed. Sydney Hart and Phil Argiroff, both representing the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy-Water Resources Division, testified in support of HB 5205.
