ROGERS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, February 13, 2024 3:20 PM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Rogers. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Rogers, Whitsett, Brenda Carter, Haadsma, Neeley, Glanville, Coffia, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Miller, Rheingans, VanderWall, Filler, Mueller, VanWoerkom, Roth, Schmaltz, Thompson. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Neeley moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 6, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. At 3:23 PM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 3:25 PM, the Chair called the committee back to order. The Chair laid HB 4347, HB 4348, SB 57 and SB 58 before the committee: HB 4347 (Rep. Price) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 7455 (MCL 333.7455), as added by 1988 PA 139. HB 4348 (Rep. McKinney) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 7453 (MCL 333.7453), as added by 1988 PA 139. SB 57 (Sen. Chang) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 7453 (MCL 333.7453), as added by 1988 PA 139. SB 58 (Sen. Bellino) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 7455 (MCL 333.7455), as added by 1988 PA 139. SB 45 (Sen. Santana) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending sections 16105 and 16106 (MCL 333.16105 and 333.16106), section 16105 as amended by 2002 PA 643 and section 16106 as amended by 2022 PA 80. Bill Drake, representing Senator Wojno, and Nick Cook representing Senator Santana, testified together in support of SB 44 and SB 45. Questions and discussion followed. Dr. Kelly Berishaj, representing the Oakland University School of Nursing, testified in support of SB 44 and SB 45. Questions and discussion followed.
