- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS REP. BRIAN BEGOLE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Government Operations was called to order by Chair BeGole. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. BeGole, Harris, VanderWall, Fitzgerald and McFall. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative VanderWall moved to adopt the meeting minutes from February 13, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4052 and HB 4053 before the committee: Representative Harris moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4052. The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. BeGole, Harris, VanderWall, Fitzgerald and McFall. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Carra and Representative Wegela testified in support of HB 4052 and HB 4053. Questions and discussion followed. Michael LaFaive, representing the Mackinac Center, testified in support of HB 4053 and HB 4052. Questions and discussions followed. Carra) A bill to prohibit members of the legislature from entering into certain nondisclosure agreements. HB 4053 (Rep. Wegela) A bill to provide definitions for the nondisclosure agreement act. Representative Harris moved to report out HB 4052 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 5-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps.
