- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY REP. SARAH LIGHTNER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Majority Vice Chair BeGole. Majority Vice Chair BeGole requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. BeGole, Wozniak, Harris, DeBoyer, Johnsen, Schuette, Tyrone Carter, Hope, Breen and Scott. Absent: Rep. Lightner. Excused: Rep. Lightner. Majority Vice Chair BeGole laid before the committee a presentation from the Michigan Sheriffs' Association and Office of the Sheriff. Matt Saxton, Executive Director, Michigan Sheriffs' Association; Dan Pfannes, Deputy Director, Michigan Sheriffs' Association; Sheriff Michael Poulin, Muskegon County, President, Michigan Sheriffs' Association; and Sheriff Troy Goodnough, Monroe County, Director, Michigan Sheriffs' Association gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Wozniak moved to excuse Representative Lightner from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. There being no further business before the committee, Chair Lightner adjourned the meeting at 11:28 AM.
