- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON NATURAL RESOURCES AND TOURISM REP. DAVID MARTIN CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES The House Committee on Natural Resources and Tourism was called to order by Chair Martin. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Martin, St. Germaine, VanderWall, Outman, Hoadley, Johnsen, Prestin, Bohnak, Fairbairn, McFall, Scott, Weiss, Arbit, Myers-Phillips and Wooden. Absent: Reps. Wortz and Foreman. Excused: Reps. Wortz and Foreman. Chair Martin welcomed Faith Baptist School to the committee. Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 16, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4029 before the committee: Representative Martin moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to HB 4029. The motion prevailed 14-0- 0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Martin, St. Germaine, VanderWall, Outman, Hoadley, Johnsen, Prestin, Bohnak, Fairbairn, McFall, Scott, Weiss, Arbit and Wooden. Nays: None. Pass: None. Representative Martin moved to report out HB 4029 with recommendation, as substitute (H-1). The motion prevailed 14-0-0: Wednesday, April 23, 2025 Noon. Room 519, House Office Building HB 4029 (Rep. Slagh) A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled "Natural resources and environmental protection act," by amending sections 40113a and 41103 (MCL 324.40113a and 324.41103), section 40113a as amended by 2023 PA 222 and section 41103 as added by 1995 PA 57. FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Martin, St. Germaine, VanderWall, Outman, Hoadley, Johnsen, Prestin, Bohnak, Fairbairn, McFall, Scott, Weiss, Arbit and Wooden. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid a Presentation on the Michigan Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus and the Certified Tourism Ambassador Program before the committee. Julie Pingston, representing the Michigan Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau, and Amari Steward, representing the Explore Flint and Genesee, gave a presentation on promoting tourism in Michigan. Questions and discussions followed. Representative Bohnak moved to excuse Representatives Wortz and Foreman from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
