ROGERS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Thursday, April 25, 2024 10:30 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Health Policy was called to order by Chair Rogers. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Rogers, Brenda Carter, Haadsma, Neeley, Glanville, Coffia, Conlin, Farhat, Fitzgerald, Miller, Rheingans, VanderWall, Filler, Mueller, VanWoerkom, Roth, Schmaltz, Thompson. Absent: Rep. Whitsett. Excused: Rep. Whitsett. Representative Thompson joined the committee remotely. Representative Rheingans moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 18, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 449 and SB 450 before the committee: SB 449 (Sen. Daley) A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled "The social welfare act," (MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 108b. SB 450 (Sen. Irwin) A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled "The social welfare act," (MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 108a. Representative VanderWall moved to adopt substitute (H-1) to SB 449. Elizabeth Trombley, on behalf of Senator McDonald-Rivet, testified in support of SB 482. Questions and discussion followed.
