BRENDA CARTER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, June 5, 2024 2:44 PM Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Insurance and Financial Services was called to order by Chair Brenda Carter. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Brenda Carter, McFall, Breen, Rogers, Scott, Young, Fitzgerald, Grant, Tsernoglou, Xiong, Harris, Bezotte, Aragona, Bruck, Neyer. Absent: Reps. Markkanen, Smit. Excused: Reps. Markkanen, Smit. Representative Breen moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 23, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5350 before the committee: HB 5350 (Rep. Farhat) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 17757c. Representative Farhat testified in support of HB 5350. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 5350, but did not wish to speak: Eric Roath, representing the Michigan Pharmacists Association.
