- Representative Weiss moved to adopt the meeting minutes from November 12, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Breen) A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code," (MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1308c. HB 5659 (Rep. Meerman) A bill to amend 2018 PA 548, entitled "Comprehensive school safety plan act," by amending the title and section 3 (MCL 28.803) and by adding section 6; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. HB 5660 (Rep. DeBoer) A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code," by amending sections 6, 1241, and 1308a (MCL 380.6, 380.1241, and 380.1308a), section 6 as amended by 2016 PA 192, section 1241 as added by 2018 PA 549, and section 1308a as added by 2018 PA 551. Representative Breen spoke to the substitutes for HBs 4095, 4096, 5549, 5659 and 5660. Questions and discussion followed. Jayme Taylor and Katie Cavanaugh, members of the Okemos Public School Board of Education, testified in support of HBs 4095, 4096 and 5549.
