- Representative Schroeder moved to adopt the meeting minutes from June 23, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5778 and HB 5779 before the committee: HB 5778 (Rep. Ellison) A bill to amend 1893 PA 206, entitled "The general property tax act," (MCL 211.1 to 211.155) by adding section 9p. HB 5779 (Rep. Ellison) A bill to provide for the exemption of certain property from certain taxes; to levy and collect a specific tax upon the owners of certain property; to provide for the disposition of that specific tax; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities; and to provide penalties.
