( iii ) A statement from the unit of local government on how the grant program has made the police department of that unit of local government more diverse in terms of qualified demographic groups. (5) Each year, the director shall submit a report to the governor and each house of the legislature and publish a copy of the report on its internet website. The report must contain all of the following: (a) The name of the unit of local government that received a grant under this act. (b) The number of police recruits trained by each unit of local government that received a grant under this act. (c) The number of individuals who are members of a qualified demographic group employed by the units of local government that received a grant under this act. (d) The number of applicants who applied to the unit of local government for funds under this section. (6) As used in this section: (a) “Qualified demographic group” means women, minorities, and historically underrepresented groups within or near the unit of local government as determined by the department. (b) “Unit of local government” means a city, village, or township.” Senator Stamas requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor.
