- In The Chair: Nesbitt The Senate agreed to the title of the bill. Protest Senator McBroom, under his constitutional right of protest (Art. 4, Sec. 18), protested against the passage of Senate Bill No. 1112 and moved that the statement he made during the discussion of the bill be printed as his reasons for voting “no.” The motion prevailed. Senator McBroom’s statement is as follows: Mr. President, I know that I stand alone on this and stood alone when we passed internet gaming last term, but I object to continuing to tie more and more of our future to these dollars. While this may seem like a practical solution, all this means in the future is that when we come to our senses and realize the damage and harm we’re doing to our families and communities with legalized gaming, it’s going to be that much harder to wean ourselves off it. I ask for a “no” vote. The following bill was read a third time: Senate Bill No. 1133, entitled A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled “Revised judicature act of 1961,” by amending section 2567a (MCL 600.2567a), as amended by 2006 PA 662.
