Whereas, By instilling faith in the promise of democracy, the United States Constitution has served as a model for democratic governments around the globe; and Whereas, The United States Constitution secured our commitment to freedom and democracy, a commit ment which has guided us through more than two centuries of enormous growth and change; and Whereas, We encourage all citizens to study the Constitution and reflect on the privilege of being an American with all the rights and responsibilities which that privilege involves; and Whereas, The Constitution of the United States of America, the guardian of our liberties, embodies the principles of limited government in a Republic dedicated to rule by law; and Whereas, Constitution Week is a time to emphasize citizens responsibilities for protecting and defending the Constitution; now, therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body declare September 17-23, 2019, as Constitution Week in the state of Michigan. The question being on the adoption of the resolution, The resolution was adopted. Third Reading of Bills Senate Bill No. 452, entitled A bill to amend 1986 PA 32, entitled Emergency 9-1-1 service enabling act, by amending section 408 (MCL 484.1408), as amended by 2018 PA 51.
