- Senate Bill No. 281, entitled A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” by amending section 16238 (MCL 333.16238), as added by 1993 PA 79, and by adding section 16240. The question being on the passage of the bill, Senator Brinks offered the following amendments: 1. Amend page 2, line 10, after “ shall ” by striking out the balance of the line through “ profession ” on line 13 and inserting “ do both of the following ”. 2. Amend page 2, line 14, after the second “ that ” by striking out “ the ” and inserting “ a ”. 3. Amend page 2, line 19, after “ violation ” by inserting a colon and: “ (a) Report the name of the licensee or registrant to the law enforcement agency with jurisdiction over the area in which the licensee or registrant practices his or her health profession. (b) If the name and contact information of the individual identified as the victim by the person reporting the violation is made available to the department, notify the individual that he or she may contact law enforcement and that crime victims are afforded certain protections under the law ”. The amendments were adopted, a majority of the members serving voting therefor.
