- Rep. Posthumus moved that the bill be given immediate effect. The motion prevailed, 2/3 of the members serving voting therefor. Rep. Paiz, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: “Mr. Speaker and members of the House: I have voted NO because this bill seeks to cut school aid funding by $5 BILLION.” House Bill No. 4032, entitled A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” by amending section 16189 (MCL 333.16189), as amended by 2022 PA 38. Was read a third time and passed, a majority of the members serving voting therefor, by yeas and nays as follows:
