House Bill No. 6118, entitled A bill to regulate certain health facility acquisitions and mergers; to require certain approvals from the hospital cost review board; to impose a tax on certain health facility acquisitions and mergers; to provide for the levy, collection, and administration of the tax; to provide for the distribution of the proceeds of the tax; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state governmental officers and entities; to prescribe civil sanctions and provide remedies; and to provide for the promulgation of rules. The bill was read a first time by its title and referred to the Committee on Government Operations. Reps. Aragona, Harris and DeBoyer introduced House Bill No. 6119, entitled A bill to amend 1984 PA 274, entitled “Michigan antitrust reform act,” by amending section 4a (MCL 445.774a), as added by 1987 PA 243.
