Posthumus moved to amend the title to read as follows: A bill to prohibit consumer reporting agencies from including certain information related to medical debt in consumer reports; to prohibit the use of medical debt under certain circumstances; to establish standards for the collection of medical debt; to regulate certain reporting of medical debt; and to provide remedies. The motion prevailed. The House agreed to the title as amended. Rep. Posthumus moved that the bill be given immediate effect. The motion prevailed, 2/3 of the members serving voting therefor. Senate Bill No. 205, entitled A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled “Public health code,” (MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 10401.
