- A bill to amend 2011 PA 15, entitled “Shopping reform and modernization act” by amending sections 2, 7, and 12 (MCL 445.312, 445.317, and 445.322). The motion prevailed. The House agreed to the title as amended. Rep. Posthumus moved that the bill be given immediate effect. The motion prevailed, 2/3 of the members serving voting therefor. Rep. Paiz, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: “Mr. Speaker and members of the House: Bills are poorly written; similar bills were submitted which were better written (without extraneous and confusing language added) but were not heard in committee and not reported to the House for a vote.” House Bill No. 4703, entitled A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled “The insurance code of 1956,” (MCL 500.100 to 500.8302) by adding section 3406ss.
