Senator Nesbitt’s statement is as follows: A billion dollars a year. Every year, a billion dollars that motorists are paying at the pump are going to other uses than fixing our roads, our bridges, and our infrastructure that has been crumbling. It’s about time we take that promise—to make sure every dime that hardworking taxpayers pay at the pump actually goes to fixing our roads. I ask for a “yes” vote on these bills. The following bill was read a third time: House Bill No. 4181, entitled A bill to amend 2004 PA 175, entitled “Streamlined sales and use tax revenue equalization act,” by amending sections 3 and 5 (MCL 205.173 and 205.175), section 3 as amended by 2015 PA 177 and section 5 as amended by 2022 PA 24.
