Paiz, having reserved the right to explain her protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: “Mr. Speaker and members of the House: I respectfully decline to vote in approval of SB 504 due to concerns about consumer/rate-payer costs.” Rep. Wilson, having reserved the right to explain his protest against the passage of the bill, made the following statement: “Mr. Speaker and members of the House: I voted no on this bill due to the ratepayers not being protected in the bill.” Rep. Aiyash moved that House Bill No. 5949 be placed on its immediate passage. The motion prevailed, a majority of the members serving voting therefor. House Bill No. 5949, entitled A bill to provide for peer-to-peer car sharing; to impose obligations on and provide rights to persons that operate peer-to-peer car sharing, shared vehicle owners, and shared vehicle drivers; to provide for liability for personal injuries and property damage in peer-to-peer car sharing; to provide for responsibilities of insurers; and to provide remedies.
