The following bill was read a third time: Senate Bill No. 530, entitled A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled “The insurance code of 1956,” by amending section 3157 (MCL 500.3157), as amended by 2019 PA 21. The question being on the passage of the bill, Senator Theis offered the following amendment: 1. Amend page 22, following line 15, by inserting: “Enacting section 2. This amendatory act does not take effect unless the department of insurance and financial services determines that premium rates for personal protection insurance coverage for automobile insurance policies will not increase as a result of the changes made by this amendatory act.”. The question being on the adoption of the amendment, Senator Lauwers requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor.
