Senator McBroom offered the following amendment: 1. Amend page 5, following line 29, by inserting: “ (4) An individual who uses a vehicle for hire to transport electors to or from a polling place or early voting site, or any individual who occupies that vehicle for hire, must not do any of the following: (a) Intimidate the driver or an occupant in that vehicle. (b) Electioneer for a current candidate or issue. (c) Wear clothing or materials to promote or disparage any current candidate or issue. (d) Distribute or sell electioneering, promotional, or disparaging materials. (5) An individual who violates subsection (4) is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of not more than $2,000.00. ” and renumbering the remaining subsection. The question being on the adoption of the amendment, Senator Lauwers requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor. The amendment was not adopted, a majority of the members serving not voting therefor, as follows:
