- The Senate agreed to the full title. The following bill was read a third time: House Bill No. 4129, entitled A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled “Michigan election law,” (MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 931b. The question being on the passage of the bill, Senator Johnson offered the following amendment: 1. Amend page 2, following line 15, by inserting: “ (5) This section does not apply to any permitted activity by a challenger as provided under section 733. ” and renumbering the remaining subsection. The question being on the adoption of the amendment, Senator Lauwers requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor. The amendment was not adopted, a majority of the members serving not voting therefor, as follows:
