- The question being on the passage of the bill, Senator Albert offered the following amendments: 1. Amend page 2, line 5, after “(1)” by striking out “An” and inserting “Except as otherwise provided in subsection (2), an”. 2. Amend page 2, following line 18, by inserting: “(2) An employer that engages in an activity described in subsection (1)(a) or (b) is not required to comply with subsection (1) if the employer is in compliance with the worker adjustment and retraining notification act, 29 USC 2101 to 2109, for that activity.” and renumbering the remaining subsection. The question being on the adoption of the amendments, Senator Lauwers requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor.
