Senator Lauwers asked and was granted unanimous consent to make a statement and moved that the statement be printed in the Journal. The motion prevailed. Senator Lauwers’ statement is as follows: I’m so appreciative that we could have that reading of the bill, but I still find myself asking questions. Can someone just tell me what this bill does? The following bill was read a third time: House Bill No. 5695, entitled A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled “The social welfare act,” (MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 109p.
