- A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state constitution of 1963, by amending section 26 of article I, to remove the provisions that prohibit certain governmental entities from granting preferential treatment to an individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, education, or contracting. The joint resolution was read a first time by its title and referred to the Committee on Government Operations. By unanimous consent the House returned to the order of Third Reading of Bills House Bill No. 4980, entitled A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled “Michigan vehicle code,” by amending section 626a (MCL 257.626a).
