In The Chair: President The Senate agreed to the title of the bill. The following bill was read a third time: Senate Bill No. 146, entitled A bill to amend 1967 PA 281, entitled “Income tax act of 1967,” by amending section 30 (MCL 206.30), as amended by 2020 PA 65. The question being on the passage of the bill, Senator Alexander offered the following amendment: 1. Amend page 21, following line 11, by inserting: “Enacting section 2. It is the intent of the legislature to annually appropriate sufficient funds from the state general fund to the state school aid fund created in section 11 of article IX of the state constitution of 1963 to fully compensate for any loss of revenue to the state school aid fund resulting from the enactment of this amendatory act.”. Senator Chang requested the yeas and nays. The yeas and nays were ordered, 1/5 of the members present voting therefor. The amendment was not adopted, a majority of the members serving not voting therefor, as follows:
