Representative Wittenberg moved to adopt the meeting minutes from April 18, 2019. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4044 before the committee: HB 4044 (Rep. Hoitenga) A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled "The insurance code of 1956," by amending sections 1205 and 1239 (MCL 500.1205 and 500.1239), section 1205 as amended by 2008 PA 422 and section 1239 as amended by 2008 PA 423. Representative Hoitenga explained the proposed substitute (H-2). The following people submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 4044, but did not wish to speak: Matt Wesolek, representing the Michigan Association of Insurance Agents. Ryan Burtlsa, representing the Michigan Association of Health Underwriters. Karin Gyger, representing the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services.
