- Representative Wozniak moved to refer House Bill No. 4709 to the committee on Judiciary. The motion prevailed 8-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Crawford, Rendon, Hoitenga, Meerman, Wozniak, Garrett, Liberati, Cynthia Johnson. Nays: None. Pass: None. The Chair laid HCR 0002 before the committee: HCR 0002 (Rep. Vaupel) A concurrent resolution to declare Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) a critical health issue, commit the Legislature to action, and encourage the Governor to direct agencies to assess and report progress on reducing ACEs. Representative Hank Vaupel, the resolution sponsor, explained his resolution HCR2 to the committee, and introduced Rick Murdock, former Director of the Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP), and now Coordinator of the Michigan ACE Initiative for the MAHP Foundation, who testified in support of HCR 0002. Discussion and Questions followed. A copy of his written testimony and handouts are attached. Lisa Farnum, Managing Director for the Michigan Association of Health Plans Foundation, submitted a card in support of HCR 2.
