- Representative Schroeder moved to adopt the meeting minutes from January 16, 2020. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HR 216 before the committee: HR 216 (Rep. Anthony) A resolution to urge Major League Baseball to continue its support for minor-league baseball teams. Representative Sarah Anthony explained HR 126, and introduced the Mayor of the City of Lansing, Andy Schor, who testified in support of HR 216. Questions and discussion followed. The following individuals submitted a testimony card in support of HR 216, but did not wish to speak: John Lindley, representing the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance; Eric Friedman, Director of State Government Affairs at The Dow Chemical Company, representing the Lansing Lugnuts, Great Lakes Loons, and West Michigan White Caps teams; and Steve Japinga, Vice President of Public Affairs for Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce.
