- Representative Howell moved to refer House Bill No. 5541 to the Committee on Ways and Means. The motion prevailed 13-0-0: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. O'Malley, Eisen, Cole, Sheppard, Alexander, Bellino, Howell, Afendoulis, Sneller, Clemente, Yancey, Haadsma, Shannon. Nays: None. Pass: None. The following people submitted a card in support of SB 278, SB 279 and HB 5541, but did not wish to speak: Aaron Porter, representing Centria Autism. The Chair laid HB 4723 before the committee: HB 4723 (Rep. Yaroch) A bill to amend 2006 PA 384, entitled "Driver education provider and instructor act," by amending sections 35 and 37 (MCL 256.655 and 256.657), section 35 as amended by 2012 PA 258 and section 37 as amended by 2018 PA 277, and by adding section 32. Representative Yaroch testified in support of HB 4723. Questions and discussion followed. Matt Levin, representing the Michigan Department of State, testified in opposition to HB 4723.
