- Representative Whiteford moved to adopt the meeting minutes from May 13, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. Chair Kahle laid before the committee a presentation on Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider issues. Ken Cummings, President & CEO of Tri-Hospital EMS; Denise Pope, paramedic with Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service; Ron Slagell, President and CEO of Emergent Health Partners; and Jeff White, Chief of Richmond Lenox EMS gave a presentation to the committee. The Chair laid HB 4521 before the committee: HB 4521 (Rep. Brabec) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 9123 (MCL 333.9123), as added by 1988 PA 487. Representative Brabec, testified in support of HB 4521. Questions and discussion followed. Dorrie Dils, CEO, representing the Gift of Life Michigan, testified in support of HB 4521.
