- Representative Wozniak moved to adopt the meeting minutes from September 28, 2021. There being no objections, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 213 before the committee: SB 213 (Sen. LaSata) A bill to amend 1981 PA 180, entitled "Older Michiganians act," by amending section 6i (MCL 400.586i), as added by 1987 PA 35. Senator Kim LaSata, the bill sponsor, explained SB 213 to the committee members. Question followed. Alison Hirschel, Senior Legal Counsel for the Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman Program, testified in support of SB 213. Questions followed. Richard Farran, Vice President of Government Services for the Health Care Association of Michigan, testified with a neutral position on SB 213. Questions followed. Karrie Craig, Assistant for the State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program for Program Quality Improvement, submitted a card in support of SB 213, but did not wish to speak.
