- Representative Bellino moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 26, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid before the committee a presentation by Kristan Sayers, President, and Mike Sarafa, Board Director, of the Michigan Association of Beauty Professionals. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid HB 5055 before the committee: HB 5055 (Rep. Posthumus) A bill to amend 2016 PA 407, entitled "Skilled trades regulation act," by amending section 223 (MCL 339.5223), as added by 2021 PA 24, and by adding section 224. Representative Posthumus testified in support of HB 5055. Questions and discussion followed. The following person submitted a card in support of HB 5055, but did not wish to speak: David Worthams, representing the Michigan Manufacturers Association. At 10:59 AM, the Chair laid the committee at ease. At 11:00 AM, Majority Vice Chair Hoitenga called the committee back to order. The Majority Vice Chair laid HB 5295 and HB 5296 before the committee: HB 5295 (Rep. Hauck) A bill to amend 1993 PA 23, entitled "Michigan limited liability company act," by amending section 904 (MCL 450.4904), as amended by 2013 PA 131. HB 5296 (Rep. Representative Hauck, Representative Hertel, and Eric DiMortino, representing the Michigan Association of Chiropractors, testified in support of HB 5295 and HB 5296. The following person submitted a card with a neutral position on HB 5295 and HB 5296, but did not wish to speak: MacKenzie Jones, representing the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulation.
