- Representative Hauck moved to report out HB 6020 with recommendation, as substitute (H- 1). The motion prevailed 17-1-1: FAVORABLE ROLL CALL Yeas: Reps. Kahle, Meerman, Whiteford, Alexander, Allor, Hauck, Filler, Mueller, Roth, Tisdel, Witwer, Clemente, Pohutsky, Stone, Whitsett, Neeley, Morse. Nays: Rep. Beeler. Pass: Rep. Fink. Chair Kahle laid before the committee presentations on human trafficking in Michigan and the 2020-2021 Michigan Human Trafficking Health Advisory Board Annual Report. Tiffany Martinez, Project Director for the Division of Victims Services for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, gave a presentation to the committee. Johanna Kononen, Director of Law and Policy for the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, and Merkeb Yohannes, Associate Director for the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, gave a presentation to the committee. Questions and discussion followed. The Chair laid SB 134 before the committee: SB 134 (Sen. VanderWall) A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled "The Michigan penal code," (MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 410c. Jamie Callahan, representing Senator VanderWall, testified in support of SB 134. Dr. Barry Sample, representing Quest Diagnostics, testified in support of SB 134. Questions and discussion followed. The following people submitted a card in support of SB 134, but did not wish to speak: David Worthams, representing the Michigan Manufacturers Association.
