The Chair laid HB 4740 and HB 5057 before the committee: HB 4740 (Rep. Farhat) A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled "The social welfare act," (MCL 400.1 to 400.119b) by adding section 107c. HB 5057 (Rep. Stone) A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled "The insurance code of 1956," by amending section 3107 (MCL 500.3107), as amended by 2019 PA 21. Representative Farhat, Amy Zaagman, the Executive Director for the Michigan Council for Maternal Child Health, and Sara Ismail, representing the Public Policy Associate for ACCESS, testified in support of HB 4740. Questions and discussion followed.
