- Representative Churches moved to adopt the meeting minutes from October 31, 2023. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 518 before the committee: SB 518 (Sen. Camilleri) A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled "The revised school code," by amending section 1531i (MCL 380.1531i), as amended by 2020 PA 316. Senator Camilleri testified in support of SB 518. Questions and discussion followed. Sheryl Kennedy and Rebecca McIntyre, both representing the Michigan Department of Education, testified in support of SB 518.
