The Chair laid HB 5378 and HB 5379 before the committee: HB 5378 (Rep. Prestin) A bill to amend 1980 PA 119, entitled "Motor carrier fuel tax act," by amending section 1 (MCL 207.211), as amended by 2015 PA 178. HB 5379 (Rep. Hill) A bill to amend 1960 PA 124, entitled "An act to create the Michigan highway reciprocity board; to prescribe its powers and duties; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities; to allow certain reciprocal compacts, agreements, and arrangements; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts," by amending section 3 (MCL 3.163), as amended by 2022 PA 25. Representative Hill, joined by Cameron Bruno, representing Representative Prestin's office, and Henry Schienebeck, representing the Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association, testified in support of HB 5378 and HB 5379. Questions and discussion followed.
