- Representative Coffia moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 5, 2024. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid SB 498 before the committee: SB 498 (Sen. Irwin) A bill to amend 1939 PA 288, entitled "Probate code of 1939," by amending section 13b of chapter XIIA (MCL 712A.13b), as amended by 2008 PA 201. Senator Jeff Irwin testified in support of SB 498. Questions and discussion followed. Lorna Elliott-Egan, representing the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, testified in support of SB 498. Questions and discussion followed. Whitney Gravelle, representing the Bay Mills Indian Community, testified in support of SB 498.
