The Chair laid HB 5580 and HB 5582 before the committee: HB 5580 (Rep. Brixie) A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled "Michigan campaign finance act," (MCL 169.201 to 169.282) by adding section 29a. HB 5582 (Rep. Morgan) A bill to amend 1976 PA 388, entitled "Michigan campaign finance act," by amending sections 5 and 7 (MCL 169.205 and 169.207), section 5 as amended by 2019 PA 93 and section 7 as amended by 2001 PA 250. Representative Brixie testified in support of HB 5580. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Morgan testified in support of HB 5582. Questions and discussion followed. Erin Schor, representing the Michigan Department of State, joined to testify in support of HB 5580 and HB 5582.
