- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON OVERSIGHT REP. STEVEN JOHNSON CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, November 30, 2021 4:00 PM Senate Appropriations, State Capitol Building The House Oversight Committee was meeting jointly with the Senate Oversight Committee. The House Committee on Oversight was called to order by Chair Steven Johnson. The Clerk read in the letter of resignation from former Representative Wozniak. The Clerk read in the letter appointing Representative Yaroch to the committee on Oversight. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Steven Johnson, Outman, Hoitenga, Reilly, Yaroch, O'Malley, Brixie, LaGrand, Young. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Outman moved to adopt the meeting minutes from November 4, 2021. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid the presentation of Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Establishing Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, Unemployment Insurance Agency, Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, November 2020, #186-0319-21A before the committee. Bryan Weiler, Chief Investigator, and Chad Monger, Audit Supervisor, both representing the Michigan Department of the Auditor General, gave an overview of their findings. Questions and discussion followed. Director Julia Dale, of the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency, and Todd Cook, Director Of Legislative Affairs for the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, testified on the Auditor General report. Questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Rep. Steven Johnson adjourned the meeting at 6:45 PM.
