HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON JUDICIARY REP. GRAHAM FILLER CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, March 22, 2022 9:00 AM Room 519, House Office Building The House Committee on Judiciary was called to order by Chair Filler. The Chair requested attendance be called: Present: Reps. Filler, Mueller, Griffin, Steven Johnson, Kahle, Rendon, Berman, Clements, LaGrand, Yancey, Bolden, Hope, Breen. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representatives Berman and Yancey joined the committee remotely. Representative Mueller moved to adopt the meeting minutes from March 15, 2022. There being no objection, the motion prevailed by unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 5485, HB 5486 and HB 5487 before the committee: HB 5485 (Rep. Frederick) A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled "Michigan consumer protection act," (MCL 445.901 to 445.922) by adding section 3p. HB 5486 (Rep. Steckloff) A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled "Michigan consumer protection act," by amending the title and section 3 (MCL 445.903), section 3 as amended by 2021 PA 46, and by adding section 3n. HB 5487 (Rep. Tisdel) A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled "Michigan consumer protection act," (MCL 445.901 to 445.922) by adding section 3o. Representative Frederick, Representative Steckloff and Representative Tisdel testified together in support of HB 5485, HB 5486 and HB 5487. Questions and discussion followed. Amy Drumm, representing the Michigan Retailers Association, and Kimberly Walz, representing Walgreens, testified together in support of HB 5485, HB 5486 and HB 5487.
